Relax & Unwind

21:18

Hello Lovelies!

It is Tralala Tuesday today and here I am with a new post!

I actually tried to post a new vlog today for you guys but it was like I could not grasped the English language all day so I gave up! That is I have given up until tomorrow when I will film it. Till then here is a new post for you guys and it is all about taking the time to take care of yourself, unwind, relax and re-center yourself among the chaos that is our "modern" world.

A lot of people think that if you stop moving, you are lazy.

Actually a lot of us tell ourselves we have got to keep going and keep moving. Slowing down or stopping and doing absolutely nothing is a bad thing, a thing only witches of Salem do and we all know how that turned out for them...

But in all seriousness I have learned overtime that taking a moment, even a small moment to clear your head and do something that chill your spirit is so healthy. Especially if you can find the time and do absolutely nothing. Which amazingly enough is extremely hard to do if you are used to being constantly in code red mode and running around doing something, anything. This summer I really got to experience doing absolutely nothing and I am not going to lie the first 20 minutes were a strange version of hell but then I got to really, really love it. Whenever I went to the beach I made a point not to take music or anything to read and just lie there and do nothing. Often I was with a friend, and yes we would chat, but I would find us often just being quiet and enjoying the fact that we had nothing to do. Nothing that was due and no one waiting for us.

That was one recharging day let me tell you.

But the reality is sometimes being in total-lazy-nothing-to-do-so-I-am-going-to-sit-here-and-take-it all-in-mode just does not always cut it! It is important to find go-to activities that you know will help you loosen up and del-stress.

Like I said earlier most of us have been programmed to always be on the go, always finding something to do and never sitting still but this is a key factor in stress. Your body is always at level 10 and even once you go to bed your brain is still working because again, many of us are still running around just before bed so your brain is still on the go even if you are trying to tell it that it is snooze time. Ignore the fact that we have been told to always be busy and be productive. Put that out of your mind and tell yourself you deserve rest.

You deserve to give your brain, body and heart a rest. It is so important to relax and find some quiet in your day, even if it is just 20 minutes. It can do wonders for your mood and how you go about the rest of your day. I used to be someone who was always in code red, and honestly I do find myself in that mode sometimes even now, but I also know better from my own burn out that unwinding aids in your own happiness.

Here are just a few things I do to unwind!

  • -Go for a run
  • Drink some yum-yum tea
  • Cuddle my dog, Bilbo (yes the Baggins)
  • Write or draw
  • Listen to some Lights of Ellie Golding
  • Kick stuff (in kickboxing class of course)

What are some of your go-to chill out activities that you do?

Feel free to share them in the comments section! And feel free to check out my YouTube account (it is still a baby) link in the tabs!

Xoxo
