5 Year Plans (Scare Me)

If there is one question that makes me sweat a little more then usual during an interview it's the question "where do you see yourself in five years". It is a question that I can honestly never answer because I don't know where I see myself in five years...because I do not know what will happen in those five years!

Do I have vague plans on which path I would like to be on in my life?

Such terror. Such FRIGHT.
Yes I kind of do but everyone knows that is not the answer to "the five year plan" question.
The answer that is wanted is a clear and concise "set in stone" on where you will be kind of answer.

Hence I sweat a little harder.

Is travelling and still eating pizza a good enough answer?

I was afraid of that...

Check out my new vlog post where I share with you my thoughts on this frustrating question and if you like it, feel free to subscribe!

  1. Dude, this question is totally ridicules! "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" "oh no problem let me just get out the Life Calculator....oh according to youtube we are all going to die from an astroid sent by Niel Patrick Harris."

    1. HAHA that is an awesome answer...mind if I steal it?
I always figured NPH would be the end of us...

  2. This is so true. My plans and my life are unrecognisable from 5 years ago!
    Down with this question!
    Ps cool blog :)

    1. So true, I firmly believe that vague ideas/goals is totally healthy but to say THIS is where I HAVE TO BE in 5 year will most likely lead to just some very crazy disappointment or perhaps a refusal to be flexible in life...
      why thank you :) :)

    2. I hope you don't mind, but I've recommended your blog on my new blog, as a link.

I did take a peek and I like your blog so far!! All I can say is...it really made me miss Primark haha!

  3. It sounds like I'm the polar opposite of you when it comes to planning. I'm not the best with short term planning. If there's a plan at work/in my life that needs handled within a week or less, I struggle, stress, and largely can't stand it. Yet, if someone asks me what my life is going to look like in five years, I can give them a detailed description of what I want to do, how I plan to get there, and (if they're willing) how they can help me get there. It's the one interview question I always feel overprepared for.

    1. Just goes to show how some people work totally different from others!!! :)
